SIZING
We build our saunas around the minimum square footage each heater needs.
Our R20 walls and R24 ceiling mean the correct heater performs the way it should. There is no need to upsize.
Sizing is done by calculating the interior floor area. Every heater carries a minimum square footage it is designed for: 12 sq ft and up for the Saunacore 3 kW, 20 for the 5 kW, 25 for the wall-mounted Fenno 6 kW, 30 for the Fenno floor-mounted 6 kW, and 42 for the wall-mounted Fenno 9 kW.
The heater listed with each model on pricing and options is the default, not the only one available. A customer can request a different brand if they have one they prefer, and we will source it. What we will not do is install the wrong size for the sauna.

Fenno
Made in Markham since 1944.
Fenno is a Finnish-Canadian manufacturer that has been building wet-sauna heaters in Markham, Ontario since 1944. The 6 kW is the most common heater in our builds. The wall-mounted version is standard on The Löyly (Black Series), The Löyly, The Perhe, and The Perhe Plus. The 6 kW floor-mounted version drives The Enthusiast, the 5 Person, and The Walter. The floor-mounted Fenno has bigger heating elements than the wall-mounted version, a larger rock tray, and more air chambers to heat the sauna and the rocks together. That is why 6 kW is correct for the larger interiors despite the increased square footage.
The 9 kW handles the 6+ Person and runs through a contactor.

Saunacore covers our smaller sizes and some larger. The 3 kW for The Oma and The Haven. The 5 kW for The Rauha. The 7.5 kW we have used for The Enthusiast and other larger builds, run through a contactor.

Every Ryt Sauna ships with the heater, a full set of rocks for that heater, and the matching control unit. What you order is the complete heater package. No upsells. No surprise add-ons.
Heaters arrive uninstalled. The electrical connection is your electrician’s job. We can also handle it in our shop on any build, delivered or shipped, with the eSAFE option.
